Southeast Swing: Sherwood, AR - Vicksburg, MS

Sherwood, AR - Vicksburg, MS
353 miles

Smooth start to my run throughout the southeast. The Delta was a hub of activity with crop planting in full swing. Felt like I was dodging heavy machinery the whole day!

Once I crossed the mighty Mississippi,  I picked up the Blues Highway to Clarksdale and stopped at a joint called Abe's Bar-B-Que. Had the Big Abe pulled pork sandwich.....it was righteous! Well worth the stop for sure.

Continued down south to Greenville, MS.... Used to fly there regularly on out and backs and cross countries when I was an IP at Columbus AFB flying the T-37. Haven't been there since 2000 so it was interesting to see how the place has grown!

On the last leg of my journey today, I met with some serious crosswinds. Nothing much to stop the winds in the Delta.....pancake flat in every direction. Had to put a few degrees of bank to counter the winds over the last few hours. Funny how the bike would straighten up when I hit a strand of trees that blocked the wind then bam.... left wing down, right rudder again on the other side.

Lastly, it was cool to see so many huge fields filled with blooming flowers everywhere you looked. Spring is definitely in session!

  1. Hopefully the banking was countering the road crown, get some wear on the right side. I would so much rather be there with ya!
